On May 19, Food Processing magazine will present a webinar on the topic of “Developing a Food Safety Culture” with GSF’s Mariana Manole, Group Vice President, Quality, Food Safety and Regulatory Affairs and the magazine’s Editor in Chief Dave Fusaro. At the conclusion of Mariana’s presentation, titled “Food Safety Today: Building a Best-in-Class Food Safety Program and Culture,” participants will have an opportunity to ask questions during a live Q&A session.
With many foodborne illness outbreaks and recalls being traced back to human error in implementing food safety programs, food manufacturers are focused on establishing strong food safety cultures in their operations. Mariana will share insights about the development of GSF’s food safety culture through education, communication, engagement, and empowerment, as well as leading by example, with commitment coming from the top of the organization.
“Food safety and quality management require strong leadership commitment, as the two go hand-in-hand,” said Mariana. “You cannot have a robust quality culture without a robust food safety culture.”
