GSF’s 2025 Impact Report Highlights Progress Across People, Sustainability and Business Performance

Golden State Foods released its 2025 Impact Report, showcasing how the company continued to advance its commitments across three core priorities: People & Communities, Environment & Sustainability, and Products & Services. The report highlights measurable progress toward long-term goals, while reinforcing GSF’s focus on accountability, innovation and responsible growth.
During 2025, associates strengthened GSF’s culture of service and community impact. Through the GSF Foundation, associates logged more than 13,800 volunteer hours, a 10% increase from the previous year. The Foundation also provided $1.4 million in community support and helped deliver the equivalent of 1.2 million meals to food banks nationwide during Focus on Food month. Associate generosity reached a new milestone as the annual giving campaign raised a record $903,700 and achieved an 82% participation rate.
Across its operations and supply chain, GSF accelerated efforts to reduce environmental impact. The company launched an energy and water efficiency program across all domestic manufacturing facilities. Additionally, GSF earned validation of its greenhouse gas reduction targets from the Science Based Targets initiative.
In 2025, the company also completed a solar-powered microgrid project at Quality Custom Distribution (QCD) Los Angeles, helping power one of the nation’s largest electric foodservice delivery fleets. By year-end, QCD deployed 44 electric trucks across Southern California and continued using renewable diesel across its California and Oregon fleets. Together, QCD’s initiatives avoided more than 9,300 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions.
“Progress comes from turning ambitious goals into practical actions across our facilities, fleet and supply chain,” said PJ Newcomb, Director of Sustainability. “This year’s results reflect the commitment of our associates and partners, who continue finding smarter ways to reduce environmental impact while strengthening our business. We still have work ahead, but the momentum and collaboration across GSF give us confidence in the road forward.”
The report also highlights achievements in product quality, food safety and innovation. GSF maintained Global Food Safety Initiative certification across all manufacturing facilities, while QCD distribution centers achieved an average score of 99% on International Featured Standards audits. Product development teams supported more than 550 projects, created over 1,850 prototypes and helped launch 50 new products during the year.
Associate development and workplace safety remained key priorities. More than 650 associates completed GSF’s LEAP 101 leadership program, while workplace safety efforts contributed to a 15% year-over-year reduction in OSHA recordable incidents. Fifteen facilities earned National Safety Council Occupational Excellence Achievement Awards, and QCD received Samsara’s 2025 Safest Operator Award.
In responsible sourcing, the report details GSF’s progress, including full implementation of a no-deforestation commitment across priority commodities and continued sourcing of 100% certified sustainable palm oil and 100% Rainforest Alliance-certified cocoa.
Together, these accomplishments reflect GSF’s ongoing commitment to creating value for customers, supporting associates and communities, and building a more sustainable future.
