GSF Career Spotlight: Olivia Morton

Olivia Morton’s career journey at GSF has been nothing short of transformative. Starting in August 2021 as a Sustainability Specialist, Olivia quickly made her mark using her solid background in renewables and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) consulting. Her passion for environmental sustainability and her natural curiosity about the global food and beverage industry drew her to GSF.

In her initial role, Olivia dove into developing GSF’s global ESG program, working on reporting and collaborating with the company’s sustainability coordinators around the world. She played a key role in setting up data analytics and systems mapping, which laid the foundation for GSF’s current sustainability efforts.

By January 2023, Olivia took on a new challenge and stepped into the role of Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) Manager, focusing on packaging. At the forefront of sourcing sustainable packaging materials, she works closely with stakeholders to explore eco-friendly alternatives for GSF’s packaging solutions.

“Collaborating with all cross-functional associates brings creativity and better informs strategic planning in my role,” she shared.

The essential support she receives from leaders like Trisha McRoberts, GSF’s Chief Procurement Officer, has positively impacted Olivia’s career growth. Plus, GSF offers flexibility, from working arrangements to opportunities for further education and professional growth.

When asked what’s kept her at GSF, Olivia says: “It's a mix of the company’s commitment to career development and a workplace culture that feels more like family—a place where everyone’s voice is heard and valued.”

Olivia’s advice to others at GSF is straightforward: stay curious, embrace novel challenges, and don’t shy away from complexities.

Looking ahead, Olivia has big plans. She just earned her Master of Applied Science in Supply Chain Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering as part of the Advancing Women Through Education (AWE) Fellowship program. Leveraging her advanced degree, she’s excited to blend her education and skillset in sustainability, supply chain management, and strategic sourcing to drive more efficient practices across the company.
