GSF Career Spotlight: Brandon Palmisano

ree

Brandon Palmisano, currently a project manager at KanPak in Penn Yan, New York, has carved an inspiring path of growth and dedication since joining the company in June 2012. His journey reflects personal and professional development, powered by curiosity, resilience, and a relentless drive for improvement.

Starting from the Ground Up

Brandon started his KanPak career as wastewater treatment plant operator. Even though he didn’t have any experience in water treatment, Brandon was eager to learn.

He absorbed everything he could in the role, which soon opened doors to a position as facilities maintenance technician. This hands-on experience allowed him to work closely with the maintenance team and paved the way for more responsibility.

Building Momentum Through Mentorship and Dedication

Brandon combined his extensive mechanical background with hard work and mentorship from KanPak leaders to go from technician to second shift maintenance team member, then maintenance lead, and later maintenance supervisor in 2019. He consistently sought better ways to make work easier, safer, and more efficient for everyone involved.

“I’ve had great mentors along the way,” says Brandon. “My first maintenance manager had very high expectations. If it wasn’t for his no-nonsense work ethic and commitment to the company, I wouldn’t have the drive I do today or the strong ‘think outside the box’ approach.”

His proactive attitude and deep facility knowledge made his transition to project manager in early 2024 a natural fit.

Creating Opportunities and Shaping the Future KanPak’s culture of internal promotion and continuous improvement has been a key factor in Brandon’s decision to grow his career with the company.

“KanPak doesn’t just talk about career growth; they back it up with real opportunities,” Brandon shared. “Going through that uncomfortable feeling when pursuing opportunities and not being successful the first time around, that’s where you learn the most, when things don’t come easy.”

Looking ahead, his focus is on expanding his skill set and continuing to contribute to the company’s forward momentum. His advice to others looking to grow within KanPak or any GSF company?

“If you stay focused, show up every day ready to learn, and push through the setbacks, the growth will come,” he said. “It may not happen overnight, but KanPak recognizes potential and rewards perseverance.”
