Greater Irvine Chamber Presents Innovation Award to GSF

October 23, 2020

During a virtual Celebrate Resilience Awards event on October 22, the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce recognized GSF with an Innovation Award for this year’s surplus milk bottling initiative. In collaboration with the GSF Foundation and KanPak U.S., GSF donated two truckloads of premium, shelf-stable whole milk to Irvine-based Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County amid the Coronavirus pandemic’s escalating economic hardships.

The awards program honored companies, organizations, and individuals that have made a positive impact on the greater Irvine community through acts of support, large or small, in response to the COVID-19 crisis. In the Innovation Award category, honorees included those who pivoted or re-engineered products or services to help the greater Irvine community face or overcome challenges presented by the Coronavirus pandemic.

“While we certainly appreciate this kind recognition from the business community, alleviating hunger and supporting our neighbors in need is simply a part of who we are at GSF – it’s part of our culture,” explains Mark Wetterau, GSF Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and GSF Foundation Chairman. “I am very proud of our generous associates for their dedication to helping others in need and we, along with many other giving organizations, look forward to continuing our community outreach this year and beyond.”
