Today, the Best in Biz Awards honored GSF Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mark Wetterau with a 2022 Executive of the Year Silver Award in the Large Companies category (1,000+ employees). A 40-year food industry veteran, Mark has led Golden State Foods to significant growth and accomplishment since 1998 when he joined the company as Chairman and CEO. Under his direction, GSF’s management team has leveraged the company’s foodservice industry expertise to expand and attract a wider, more diversified customer base, while remaining a primary supplier to long-time GSF customer, McDonald’s.

“It’s a pleasure and a privilege to lead GSF and our dedicated associates across the globe during this momentous time in our company’s history, as we celebrate our 75th Anniversary year,” said Mark Wetterau, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, GSF. “Thank you to all of our associate teams, valued customers, and business community partners for sharing in our mutual success, as we continue to pursue together a legacy of leadership, values, quality, service, innovation, and growth.”

Recognizing environmental and community initiatives implemented in 2020 and 2021, GSF previously received a 2021 Best in Biz Gold Award for Most Socially Responsible Company of the Year. In 2020, GSF earned a Best in Biz Gold Award for Most Innovative Company of the Year, based on the surplus bottled milk hunger alleviation initiative that KanPak U.S. launched during the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic.

As the only business awards program judged by independent panels of prominent news reporters and respected editors from top-tier publications, the Best in Biz Awards occur annually in two separate, geography-based programs, including North America (Canada and U.S.) and international (open to all companies anywhere in the world). The organization honors top-performing companies in a range of categories, including Fastest-Growing Companies, Innovation, Customer Service, Leading Executives, Enterprise Product, and Corporate Social Responsibility.
