GOLDEN STATE FOODS BREAKS GROUND FOR STATE-OF-THE-ART
DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN GARNER, N.C.
New 133,000 square-foot facility will increase efficiency, meet growing distribution demands

GARNER, North Carolina, February 22, 2008 – Wearing hard hats and carrying commemorative silver shovels, Golden State Foods (GSF) company executives and local business and community leaders broke ground in the city of Garner for the construction of a landmark Golden State Foods Distribution facility.
The groundbreaking ceremony featured comments about the new GSF Distribution center from Mark Wetterau, chairman and CEO, GSF ; Tim Heskett, vice president Distribution - East and Lexington general manager, GSF; Jim Brooks, general manager, Greensboro, GSF; Ken Atkins, executive director, Wake County Economic Development Program and Ronnie Williams, Mayor of Garner.

Scheduled to open in mid 2009, the construction of GSF’s new 133,000 square-foot distribution
center will allow the company to meet growing distribution needs throughout the Southeastern U.S.
With a fresh design, state-of-the-art technology and rail access, the new center will enable GSF to serve approximately 500 restaurants in the region.
